Brymstonne Badge

Brymstonne Wall Coverings

In the SCA, many of us spend a lot of time searching for that one kind of fabric, that perfect trim, and the perfect style. Then we proceed to spend even more hours sewing it all up into just the right piece of garb. We eagerly look forward to the weekend so we can forget our mundane troubles and revel in a world that we spend a lot of time and energy to create. Unfortunately, we don't have castles to revel in. Instead, we are limited to conference rooms, cafeterias, and parks. It's hard to step into the past with lunch menus and soda machines staring us in the face. This is exactly the dilemma the College of Brymstonne faced for its Chocolate Revel in September 2003.

The Chocolate Revel autocrat, along with support staff, went to look at the site we had procured in January. the Revel was being held in conjunction with the Known World Arts and Sciences Symposium. We thought of all those people that would (most likely) be coming in from out of town, and possibly even out of Kingdom, and realized that something had to be done to disguise the fact that they would be attending an event held in a university cafeteria. To honor those that made the trip, and to do honor to our Kingdom, we wanted to do something to make the event special. Thus were born the Brymstonne Walls!
